We strike from class and show up in mass to demand action from RUC. We show up as a promise to RUC’s leadership that we will force them to end their complicity in the zionist entity’s genocide and endless destruction of life by any means necessary.
It has been a year of colonial genocide and a year of silence and complicity. Roskilde University as an institution of the Danish state is deeply intertwined with the forces of imperialism and genocide. This has only become more apparent as RUC refuses even to acknowledge the reality of scholasticide and genocide, and to condemn the actions of “Israel”. Instead RUC refuses to commit to a comprehensive boycott of zionist academic institutions complicit in the murder and oppression of the Palestinians, Lebanese and all peoples subject to the violence of the zionist entity.
RUC actively legitimizes the zionist apartheid state via its continuing ties to the occupation. RUC leaves it up to Jyske and Danske Bank to invest the university’s blood money in companies actively involved in the domination and oppression of Palestinians. These banks are free to invest RUC’s money in genocidal companies as the university has not even requested their banks to avoid complicit companies. As everything is left up to these banks, RUC’s money might not be invested in colonialism and genocide on specific days, but there is no guarantee that their money is not immediately re-invested in these same blood-soaked companies. This is unacceptable. RUC must commit to a lifelong economic boycott of companies complicit in zionist colonialism.
OUR DEMANDS:
1. Roskilde University must commit to an academic boycott of all Israeli institutions complicit in furthering the colonization and destruction of Palestine, as was done with Russia and Belarus in March of 2022.
2. Roskilde University must commit to a lifelong economic boycott of all companies profiting from all occupation in Palestine, this includes investments and purchasing agreements.
3. Roskilde University must recognize and condemn the ongoing genocide committed by the zionist occupation, and call for an immediate arms embargo, ceasefire, and end to the siege on Gaza, aggression in the West Bank.
4. Roskilde University must condemn the zionist entity’s colonial war of aggression on Lebanon.
No racism, queerphobia, islamophobia, anti-semitism, discrimination, or violent language to fellow protestors will be tolerated.
